Abstract
Research, presented in the article, is based on quadripolar model of achievement motivation of M. Covington. In the article research of intellectual abilities development level of senior pupils depending on their motivational type is observed. Particular attention is paid to the problem of low level of achievement motivation of children with high intellectual level; the ways of this type of motivation development of gifted children are proposed.
