Abstract

Media practices are stereotyped and directed activities, which purpose is to operate the array of media content that carries information about events, social phenomena and processes in society through inclusion of the subject in interaction with information resources and media production. Media practices are classified by criteria of subjectness, dynamic of expansion, influence on personality and its social environment, functions, the direction of communication, perception of media production, media user’s type of activity and combination of media practices by particular parameter. It performs the results of the research on implementation of political and legal media practices in terms of hybrid war, which was conducted in 10 higher educational institutions of Kyiv (involving 15 students for individual interviews, 16 people for 4 group interviews and the expert survey involving 428 respondents). The analysis of materials obtained during this research allowed describing and making the cases on implementation of such media practices as participation in coordination groups, TV appearances, “gibing”, spreading of socially significant information, faking information, expert blogging, virtual attacks on opponents, computer games and building of virtual reality. On the base of theoretical analysis, expert interviews, content analysis material of individual and group interviews, we have highlighted such functions of media practices as informative, communicative and coordinative, recreational, creative; emotional and cathartic, professional and socializing function. Statistically proven the importance of youth communities contribution in counteraction to information attacks provided in terms of hybrid war of Russia and Ukraine.
