Abstract
The main issues of the approaches and notion of civic education and education for democratic citizenship are analyzed in the framework of international dimension. The theoretic basis and ideological positions of different authors in terms of education for democratic citizenship in European countries and USA are underlined. Education for democratic citizenship is analyzed in the context of democratization processes.
