Abstract

The article addresses the social discourse as the means of public opinion formation. Emphasized here is the view that social discourse and media discourse, as its subtype, reflect public conscience: the lack of public discourse leads to the information space gaps and public conscience lacunas. The public opinion patterns at the backdrop of the social discourse as well as the variants of the public opinion subjects have been considered. It is concluded that there is a need of dialogue between the all the participants involved in order to attract wider public and facilitate the social discourse.
