Abstract

The difference between natural and scientific functional literacy according to PISA terminology and competence in the field of sciences, engineering and technology is that the PISA study is based on the analysis of situations according to their descriptions and models, while competence requires the analysis of real situations of everyday life. Competence-oriented projects allow working out real-world situations in research projects.
