Abstract

In the education of children with hearing impairments in Ukraine in recent years, there have been obvious positive trends that have a direct impact on hearing and speech development: early intervention has been introduced (early detection of hearing impairments and early assistance to the child and his family are regulated by law), hearing prostheses are provided with high-tech means of hearing correction, the variability of approaches and flexibility in education, based on a functional approach, focusing not on a nosological category, but on the needs of a specific child, which may go beyond typical manifestations of hearing impairment or do not cause obvious educational difficulties, is spread. However, the war changed the reality, in particular the educational one, made it difficult to implement the legally defined and scientifically based provisions regarding the accompaniment of children with hearing impairments: a mixed format of education was introduced, the workload on educators increased, the psychological state of all participants in the educational process became more complicated, the variability of socio-territorial family living conditions of education seekers led to great differences in the possibilities of training organization.
