Abstract

It is stated that education in the EU countries faces the challenge of ensuring equity, which actualizes the development of policy in this area. The fundamental principle of equitable education in EU documents is the separation of social, economic and cultural status, ethnic and racial origin from educational levels and achievements. It is concluded that inclusive education and training, as well as the promotion of the European dimension in learning and environmental sustainability to support the movement towards a greener and more sustainable Europe, including the development of competencies, are positioned as tools for the formation of common values, the creation and maintenance of a cohesive European society that promotes sustainable growth.
