Abstract

In this difficult time for our Ukraine, with the aim of ensuring the protection and safety of persons with hearing disabilities in situations of risk, in particular in armed conflicts and emergency humanitarian situations, in which Ukrainians and, especially, deaf citizens find themselves, the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf and the Department of Sign Language Training The Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology named after Mykola Yarmachenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is launching a joint Internet project "Contour of psychological safety of the deaf". The issue of the need for deaf people to receive quality psychological services in Ukraine has long been in need of a solution. In today's situation of Russian aggression, this issue has become particularly acute. It so happened that most of the activities that are currently carried out in the field of psychological support for people are aimed specifically at the audience of hearing people, or are presented in the form of textual recommendations that are not always understandable for a deaf person due to ignorance of the meaning of certain words or incomplete understanding of information that is conveyed through the use of complex sentences. Іn the Internet project "Contour of psychological safety of the deaf", we offer you short, simple and clear psychological video recommendations on how to support yourself and your loved ones in this difficult time. Video materials will be posted on the website and Facebook page of UTOG. We hope that these recommendations will help you maintain your mental health. Take care of yourself and your loved ones! We will win!
