Abstract

Introduction: The result of modern education is the formation of a different set of competencies that serve as the basis for the successful professional activity of military specialists. Another important trend today is the development of an approach to lifelong learning, which involves continuous learning aimed at developing the ability and desire of adults to constantly improve themselves. The mentioned trends actualize the necessity of training the teaching staff of higher military educational institutions for the training of adult education seekers, therefore the issue of formation and development of andragogic competence as a critical component of the managerial competence of the teaching staff becomes urgent. Purpose: The article examines the essential characteristics of managerial and andragogical competencies of the teaching staff of higher military educational institutions, the development of which is the key to increasing the efficiency of managerial activities in the process of organizing the educational process. Methods: During the research, theoretical methods were used: the method of system-structural analysis of scientific literature and the problem-target method; empirical methods: conversations with scientific and pedagogical workers, analysis of literary sources. Results: The essential characteristics of the managerial and andragogical competences of the teaching staff of higher military educational institutions are highlighted, the development of which will significantly increase the effectiveness of managerial activities in the process of organizing the educational process. Originality: On the basis of the identified essential characteristics of the managerial and andragogical competences of the teaching staff of higher military educational institutions, the features that determine the specificity of the andragogical competence of the teaching staff have been identified, the consideration of which will increase the readiness of the teaching staff to work with an adult audience. Conclusion: It is advisable to focus the directions of further scientific research on the trends in the development of managerial and andragogical competences of the teaching staff of higher military educational institutions.
