Abstract
To explain the process of adaptation of children/adolescents regarding the causes of the formation of deviant behavior in persons with OOP during wartime, it is advisable to consider and use the cognitive theory of coping by R. Lazarus. Coping in this theory is understood as a person's activity to maintain a balance between the demands of the environment and personal resources that meet these demands. Coping resources are stable behavioral attitudes of the individual (empathy, search for social support, compensation for impaired development, etc.), the effectiveness of their development determines the success of the adaptation of the individual with OOP to stressful situations. Weak or insufficient development of coping resources contributes to the formation of maladaptive coping behavior, social isolation, and personal deviance. A distinctive feature of deviant behavior is that it changes the way the problem is interpreted, but does not change the stressful situation and the conditions of the individual's adaptation to the social environment.
