Abstract

The theses indicate the evolution of leadership concepts throughout human history: the theory of the great man, the theory of signs, etc. After World War II, behaviorist theories of leadership gained popularity, as well as situational theory or contingency theory. Today, transactional and transformational theories, instrumental and distributed leadership are effectively used. The consensus among experts is that leaders perform multifunctional roles and responsibilities that require the use of a variety of tools.
