Abstract

To help parents and teachers of children with hearing impairments, we have prepared educational materials for differentiating the sounds "z" and "zh". The presentation slides present: acoustic samples of non-speech signals and sound imitations; visual samples of articulatory images; visual materials; methodical apparatus with sample tasks and a dictionary for processing. Corrective and developmental work will contribute to the development of auditory attention and auditory memory, auditory and articulatory coordination, help to form auditory and speech skills of detection (detection of acoustic signals) and differentiation (distinction of acoustic signals), expand the vocabulary, practice the correct use of grammatical categories. Among the important conceptual provisions of modern deaf pedagogy, an important place belongs to the family-centeredness of corrective and developmental influence, since the expected result largely depends on the involvement of parents. The proposed tasks can be performed by the child at home with parents and serve as samples for the development of similar exercises using other acoustic and speech material. We emphasize the partnership of all participants, including teachers, adult family members and the child himself. The presentation is designed for children with cochlear implant systems and hearing aids. However, the basis of modern support for children with hearing impairment is not a nosological (category is not decisive for its organization and methodological support), but a functional (we rely on the identified individual needs of the child and make efforts to satisfy them) approach, therefore the presented material can be used and in working with children with reduced hearing, whose auditory capabilities allow them to perceive acoustic signals containing presentation slides, and partially (visual, speech material, methodical apparatus) with deaf and hearing-impaired children in combination with sign language support based on individual needs. The materials will be useful for children of preschool and primary school age. We deliberately do not specify the physical age of children, as it is not decisive in the hearing-speech development of a child with a hearing impairment, instead hearing age and hearing-speech experience, the early onset of corrective and developmental influence, are important.
