Abstract

It has been established that Ukrainian typhology is currently faced with the task of methodological reflection, understanding its own historical path and modern status. It was established that typhology was traditionally defined as a field of defectology, which unites the following sciences: typhlopedagogy, typhlopsychology, special methods of training and education of the blind and partially sighted, history of typhlopedagogy, typhlotechnique. It was established that the gaining of independence by Ukraine acutely posed a problem regarding the development of the theoretical basis of the educational and educational process of children with visual impairments, since the goal and task of education of persons with visual impairments has fundamentally changed. It is proved that epoch-making changes took place in legislation, terminology, the structure of educational institutions for persons with visual impairments, typhological theory and practice.
