Abstract

Special attention in modern psychology is paid to issues in the field of health preservation in connection with the recognition of the problem of the global deterioration of the health of the population, the issue of observing the right of people to equal and fair access to health resources. Currently, the problem of dentophobia (extreme fear of dental intervention, which leads to avoidance of treatment and deterioration of the condition of the oral cavity) is extremely relevant for Ukraine; special attention to the prevention of dentophobia in children and adolescents, taking into account the need for additional measures in the context of barrier-free and inclusiveness. In accordance with the defined goal, based on the theoretical analysis of research results and the generalization of practical experience, two groups of factors for the prevention of dentophobia in children, in particular with special needs, have been identified: factors that affect the entire course of the child's development (timeliness/availability/systematic services, in particular on regulatory legal level; timely diagnosis of dental problems and optimal treatment; positive experience of the first and subsequent visits to the dentist (psychological comfort, sedation, modern office equipment, etc.); educational measures to preserve health (taking into account the age of the child); consideration of individual psychological and special needs; informational and psychological work with parents; support of an interdisciplinary team of specialists; positive attitude; training programs for future dentists/ improvement of professional competence of specialists, etc.); conditionally, the second group of environmental factors is exactly how the environment in which the child receives dental services is arranged, to what extent his needs are taken into account.
