Abstract

The article reveals the effectiveness of modernization of future history teacher training in Ukrainian universities based on a competency approach. In the post-pandemic space, it acquires new significance and the introduction of new methodologies in practice, in particular – transdisciplinary. The author emphasizes that future history teachers should be the bearers of Ukrainian identity, and their primary task is to form a new generation of Ukrainian citizens. For that purpose, future history teachers should master certain technologies, methods and techniques of imparting to the younger generation the necessary knowledge of their traditions, the origins of the statehood of the country in which they were born and must live with dignity. The article also considers the need for future history teachers to master distance learning methods of historical subjects. The transdisciplinary competence is an important aspect of their professional development. The historical students should acquire strong, deep, reliable knowledge and ways to control them using the interdisciplinary integration, based on both scientific experience and acquired from everyday life outside the educational disciplines. It is the acquisition of key and professional competencies – the professional competence development in working with legislative, archival, library, pedagogical and other source bases.
