Abstract

The theses present the development of socio-anthropological ideas of education and upbringing in the second half of the 19th century, show educational changes that have taken place recently; it was revealed that the formation of a national system of education and upbringing, the introduction of a national component into the structure of pedagogical science, i.e. Ukrainization, secularism, accessibility, labor principle, free development of the child's personality, were characteristic of the studied period.
