Abstract
It is emphasized that the realities of the war as a result of the unprecedented attack on Ukraine by Russian Federation form new characteristics of the Ukrainian education system, i.e. flexibility, adaptability, openness to the established concepts and practices that determine the functioning of education in the new realities. It is important in this context to introduce into scientific circulation the basic terminology that forms the terminological field of education in conditions of war and crisis situations. The Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA), the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), the Foundation “Education Cannot Wait” (ECW), supported by the United Nations, UNESCO and the EU are the leaders in the development of new terminology. The basic terms include: military use of schools, protection of children's rights, attack on educational institutions, education in emergencies, etc.
