Abstract

The article examines the complex multifaceted process of purposeful information-mediated psychological impact on people in the face of threatening events, probable psychotrauma, as well as the mobilization of its conscious and unconscious resources to restore physical and mental health. Disturbing news is easily spread through the Internet and social media, including unverified messages, which become a source of additional stress. In these conditions, the availability of information and psychological support for people is of special importance. Information-psychological influence can be considered as "penetration" into the psyche of the recipient (target audience) with the help of information content, which aims to change individual or group psychological characteristics (views, attitudes, motives, etc.) in the direction that is determined by the initiators of influence. Information and psychological influence is carried out by special means in various forms (leaflets, posters, news channels, social networks, radio and podcasts), that influence can be seen as a process that changes various aspects of the recipient's activity, and as a result of these changes. The ratio of constructive and destructive components of influence can be different in peacetime and during military confrontation. Information warfare involves the systematic use of propaganda, psychological operations, operational military information support to influence the thoughts, emotions, moods and behavior of recipients of different target audiences, including different groups of the enemy state. There are different options for "using" information content depending on the goals of the impact and the target audience. At the same time, in addition to the conscious tasks set by the initiators, various unconscious factors related to customers, developers and translators of content penetrate the content, so the impact is not always predictable. Psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and value-semantic components of the psychological impact of information from various sources on citizens, taking into account modern realities, are highlighted. An integrative model of information and psychological support of citizens during threatening events is outlined. The support function can be carried out through constructive informational and psychological influence; the conditions under which such influence can be partially or mainly destructive have been clarified.
