Abstract

The author argues that today the development of science and scientometrics requires from every scientist, from every researcher, serious information analysis and understanding of the current publishing situation in the world in general and in Ukraine in particular. It is also pointed out that modern researchers are concerned about many issues related to their publishing activity in both domestic and foreign scientific and educational spaces. The article states that the methodology of scientific research should be supported by the practicality of publishing the results in scientific journals, as well as defining their totality and main aspects by submitting articles to scientific journals indexed in international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection. It is also emphasized that the Procedure for attestation of scientific personnel now includes the requirements of mandatory indexation of published scientific papers in these databases.
