Abstract
Civic and social competences are among the key competencies defined by the Law of Ukraine "On Education". Civic competence refers to the relationship of the individual citizen with the state, institutions of power and other citizens. This is the competence in the political sphere of civil society. The individual, who has social competence, is aware of the mechanisms of functioning of the social sphere of civil society and its role in it, tries to take active steps to transform social reality, able to cooperate in a group and team.
