Abstract

Today, in the context of the Covid pandemic, the key issue is building an effective distance education system, in particular in primary schools. This means that the problem of using digital visualization as a means of visual representation in the educational process is being updated. According to the PIRLS monitoring - an international research of the quality of reading and understanding of text among primary school students - one of the priority components of reading competence is the ability to find and process information on the internet, read, analyze, critically evaluate and interpret hypertexts and texts of interrupted format. They can include such types of digital visualization as tables, charts, maps, infographics, timelines, flowcharts, mind maps and spider maps, illustrations, interactive images, video and audio content, digital models, and so on. Visual literacy, as well as digital and reading competences, belong to the Super-subject components of modern education. Their integration is a logical consequence of the progressive development of the educational system.
