Abstract

The article substantiates the legitimacy of the use of art therapy as an ecological and effective tool that helps to establish interaction in the family. Indicators for assessing the developmental potential of family interaction are: external and internal boundaries (or psychological «boundaries»); hierarchy; flexibility of norms and rules, cohesion. Significant potential (diagnostic, developmental, therapeutic, transformational) in the use of art therapy for research and correction of the peculiarities of interaction in the family. These include: potencies (the ability to study those aspects of interaction in the family that cannot be studied using direct verbal methods); clarity (visualization of previously unconscious or denied aspects of family interaction); resources (allows family members to master new models of interaction, to test constructive ways of interaction); activity of involvement (non-verbal nature of self-expression opens opportunities for children to express themselves more actively); interactivity (game atmosphere); creative character (brings closer to the realization of the subject, the Creator of his life); environmental friendliness (safe and non-traumatic tool for harmonizing human interaction). It is shown that the use of art therapy allows the specialist to visualize important material on the peculiarities of interaction in the family, which can be the basis for indirect diagnosis of the current state of family relations (their problem areas, weaknesses, conflicts, resources), and for further planning of their work to establish interaction between family members. H. Landgarten's significant work in the field of family art therapy is described (presented: its diagnostic and corrective tasks; signs of assessment of family interaction; description of types of dysfunctions in family interaction). An indicative list of art therapeutic techniques that will be useful in the study of the peculiarities of family interaction and in psychocorrectional work is given. Areas of work that will generally contribute to the establishment of interaction in the family, and specified on the topics within each area: 1) research and diagnostic; 2) therapeutic; 3) transformational.
