Abstract

The article reveals the methodology of SWOT-analysis for strategic planning of educational activities of institutions of out-of-school education in the time of pandemic. The author highlights the essence of the methodology of SWOT-analysis, which involves both external and internal factors that directly or indirectly affect the functioning of the institution. The survey covered 41 pedagogical workers from 12 regions of Ukraine. The results of the study of the SWOTanalysis in institutions of out-of-school education are summarized in two matrices: primary and TOWS. The basis of the study was the questionnaire. The analysis of the revealed factors influencing activity of institutions of out-of-school education in the conditions of pandemic is presented. The most significant factors in the present conditions are established. The important stage in the SWOT-analysis is described as the following: correlation analysis to identify the relationships between the components of the system in the educational activities of institutions of out-of-school education. The strong influence of the component of the matrix on the general system of out-of-school education is proved. The examples of correlation analysis of the factors that achieved the highest average score are presented. The TOWS matrix combines the results of the SWOT analysis, which makes it possible to generate approaches to educational activities in institutions of out-of-school education in the time of pandemic, to establish links between characteristics and factors from different SWOT sectors and to create a basis for developing strategies to strengthen and eliminate these factors. The practical significance of the article is that the materials can be used for SWOT analysis in educational institutions in order to strategically plan the educational activities of the institution in the pandemic time.
