Abstract

The publication analyzes the features of using electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu to evaluate the effectiveness of scientific and pedagogical research. The aim of the study was to consider the features of the use of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu and to identify the advantages and disadvantages of their use in scientific and pedagogical activities. After all, electronic social networks are not only a means of communication around the world, but also a tool for the work of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers, namely to evaluate the effectiveness of research. The main directions of application of electronic social networks for carrying out research, in particular the psychological and pedagogical direction are described. The properties of application of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu for work of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers are revealed and defined. It is proved that the introduction of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu in the evaluation of scientific and pedagogical research effectively affects not only the effectiveness of research, but also the formation of information and research competence of scientific and scientific and pedagogical workers. Several electronic social networks created to support scientific activity are analyzed. The peculiarities of the use of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu to evaluate the effectiveness of scientific and pedagogical research are highlighted. The state of use of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu by scientific and pedagogical workers to evaluate the conducted research and surveys is determined. It is emphasized that the use of electronic social networks Researchgate and Academia.edu is promising for evaluating the effectiveness of scientific and pedagogical research, as they allow to distinguish between quantitative and qualitative indicators and influence efficiency.
