Abstract

The content of modern textbooks of the linguistic and literary educational field is of great importance in achieving mandatory learning results through a systematic presentation of the program material. The content of a modern textbook should ensure the organization of the educational process on a competency basis in accordance with scientific concepts of modernization of Ukrainian Education. The theses outline the main aspects of creating a textbook, but the issue of the conceptual foundations for building modern textbooks on language and reading, of presentation of the material, requires a more thorough analysis and this is the task of subsequent research.
