Abstract
The problem of content for the mixed study of modern Ukrainian prose for students of 5-6 grades is actualized. Its structure and variety of tasks of different levels focus on group and project activities, which will contribute to the formation of not only subject literary (reading) competence, but also a number of key ones that have been studied.
