Abstract
The authors describe the results of a comprehensive study, which consisted of two stages. According to the results of qualitative research, the following are determined: general trends in the use of social media, leading psychological characteristics of activity and types of users. The results of the qualitative research were the basis for the development of methods for psychological diagnosis of types of activity of social media users.
