Abstract

The purpose of the study: To determine how well the existing detectors work with different types of appearance and foreign objects around the face. How effective are the available methods for identifying compliance with quarantine restrictions, for their further potential use as a source of data for monitoring and forecasting the pandemic situation. Results of scientific research: stage of classification of the person that allows to investigate characteristics of each stage both separately, and as a whole. The research methods themselves and their comparisons were performed using image samples from the MAFA (Masked Faces) data set. A general evaluation of several face detectors for their effectiveness was performed and several ready-made models / technologies (OpenCV / MTCNN / Retina / Dual Face Detector) for recognizing masks and other objects around the face were considered. The effectiveness of these methods and the possibility and prospects of use in systems for monitoring and predicting new outbreaks of coronavirus infection were compared. Because the correct placement of a mask is not determined by standard methods, existing mask detectors usually learn from very complex data processing (given the standard purpose of detectors) and usually do not mark the face where the mask is present, but do not cover a specific part of the face near the nose. mouth and chin. This is a common problem that is found in most face mask detection software.
