Abstract

Every year Ukraine faces with more and more civilizational challenges and problems, but the topic of the media environment remains unchanged. Over the past 4 years, the Laboratory of Psychology of Mass Communication and Media Education of the ISPP APN of Ukraine promptly responded to particularly pressing inquiries related to the media information environment. The psychological and media educational aspects of information war were identified, the topic of media trauma and resources for its healing was highlighted, new media educational approaches were developed for the prevention of destructive informational influences, the psychological phenomena of the COVID-19 infodemic were analyzed and presented, media practices in self-isolation, the issue of risks about total virtualization of everyday life were updated. This assembly is the result of the painstaking work of scientists, teachers, social workers, which analyzes the challenges of media traumatization of the Ukrainian society and ways of confronting them. The presented collection not only comprehensively covers various aspects of media traumatization, but also presents various means of resisting destructive informational influences and creative media, in particular. Preventive correcting means of prevention of media traumatization have been developed targeting both children and adults. The collection is addressed to psychologists, social educators and workers, media psychologists and media educators, military psychologists, chaplains, scientists, teachers, students and teachers of courses in various industries related to this topic.
