Abstract

The article reflects the main scientific and methodological approaches to the educational environment for children with special educational needs in the context of the concept of the New Ukrainian School. Foreign and domestic practice of its implementation is analyzed. The main positions for the flexible organization and zoning of class space for children in this category, as modern world trends that complement and balance each other, аre represent. It is about the balance between the division of the class into separate cells and the transformation of space for various types of activities, which is ensured primarily by the teacher. Zoning and flexible organization of class space are two modern trends that complement and balance each other. Finding a balance between dividing a class into separate cells and transforming the space for different types of activities is primarily a teacher’s task. The zoning of the classroom for children with special educational needs is one of the elements of a student-centered, adaptive educational environment, associated primarily with the flexible organization of the classroom. Modern educational space should provide an opportunity for various forms of educational activities of such students. The main task of a teacher teaching children with special educational needs is to transform the educational environment of their ally and helper. The authors presented the main components of the educational environment, noted the leading principles of its design, stages and an indicative algorithm for its implementation for teaching students with special educational needs.
