Abstract

The theses presents the role and place of contradictory / controversial issues, that`s allowing to identify antagonistic points of view or interests in a given situation, to use various forms of discussion in the learning process and to develop students' argumentation skills. Rules for working with controversial issues and conducting discussions in history lessons are proposed.
