Abstract
The thesis raises the problem of using the method of exercises in terms of distance learning of the Ukrainian language. The value of the method is determined. It is noted that in the conditions of emergency forced transition to distance learning it is necessary to choose such exercises to increase students 'motivation to learn in new conditions, work on developing students' self-regulation skills, critical thinking skills, work with different sources of information.
