Abstract

The purpose of this article is to acquaint interested scholars and practitioners with the psycholinguistic toolkit on the correction of spelling errors in the written production of students with severe speech impairment, who are studying in the lower grades. The methodology of the study was adapted as much as possible to work with students with severe impairment of speech in the junior level of education, which includes a step-by-step system from the standpoint of psycholinguistic approach to overcome misspelling in the written production of pupils, taking into account the mechanisms of speech disorders. In addition to analyzing available scientific and methodological sources, the author made observations on the educational learning process, in particular the process of preparing students to perform their creative writing tasks, the process of setting and solving creative, in particular, spelling tasks, aimed at improving Ukrainian spelling. Scientific novelty is the development of modern approaches to the method of correction of speech errors from the standpoint of psycholinguistic approach; psycholinguistic mechanisms of spelling errors in the specified category of pupils are revealed and defective links in the structure of the spelling defect, their influence on the formation and fixation in the students of the correct spelling are identified. The results have been implemented in pedagogical practice, in particular in schools for children with severe speech impairment in Kyiv and other areas. Conclusions. Therefore, the significant importance of the author's approaches to the method of correction of speech errors is that the obtained results deepen the scientific and methodological ideas about the prevention of speech disorders in students of the junior level of study with TPM during mastering the norms of spelling. The implementation of modern approaches is that the results obtained will contribute to improving the content of special education of students in grades 2-4 who study in primary schools for children with SST, and will also have a positive effect on overcoming school failure, in particular morphology. The material is addressed to scientists, speech therapists, defectologists of schools for children with severe speech disorders.
