Abstract

On October 10-11, 2019 the 5th International Congress on Special Pedagogy, Psychology and Rehabilitation “Children with Special Needs in the Educational Space” was held at T.H. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Colehium”. The congratulatory address was made to the participants of the congress by: Mykola Nosko, Rector, T.H. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Colehium”; Volodymyr Lugovyi, First Vice-President, National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; Andriy Shevtsov, Director of the Department of Personnel Certification and Licensing, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Victoria Nazarenko, General Secretary, National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine; Viacheslav Zasenko, Director, Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and other researchers and educators. On the first day after the greetings, a plenary meeting began, at which the leading scientists of our country had the opportunity to share their latest work with the participants and guests of the congress. The second part of the congress envisaged meeting in sections depending on professional interests, as well as directions of practical and scientific activity of participants. We have completed the first day of work with various workshops. On the second day, some sections continued their work, and other participants took part in on-site master classes held at the Chernihiv Municipal Institution “Inclusive and Resource Center No 1”, Chernihiv Secondary School No 30 and Chernihiv Pre-school Education Institution No 52 “Sonechko”. At the end of the 5th International Congress, participants had the opportunity to take a tour of the legendary city of Chernihiv from the already legendary tour guide Erwin Miden, as well as to hear a speech by the band of bandura players named after Ostap Veresay.
