Abstract

The publication was prepared following the results of the roundtables "History in us and we in history: psychology of historical memory" held by the Institute for Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, which took place on November 8, 2018 and October 17, 2019. Problems that were brought up for discussion: historical psychology and historical memory, the influence of historical memory on national identity and nation-creation, historical memory in a hybrid war, historical memory and factors in the formation of a memory policy in Ukraine, assessment of countries and the region by residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass, imprint historical events in the therapeutic space of a small group, intrapersonal conflicts of participants in military events, the role of memory of historical trauma in social development, traumatic historical memory as a challenge for interstate relations and political democracy, the historical resonance of group phenomenology in difficult social situations. The roundtable was attended by psychologists, historians, culturologists, sociologists, political scientists, philosophers. The publication is addressed to specialists in the socio-humanitarian fields – theorists and practitioners, as well as to everyone who is interested in historical psychology, problems of historical memory and national creation in Ukraine and abroad.
