Abstract
The article presents one of the sections of the virtual information bibliographic Outstanding Teachers of Ukraine and the World resource developed by V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine. The section covers the information about Vasyl Onysymovych Onyshchuk (1919-1989), an outstanding Ukrainian pedagogue, honoured with Outstanding Educator Award, a specialist in the field of didactics, a teacher of pedagogy, psychology, and geography, the Bershad teachers’ training school, and the head of the Department of Didactics, Research Institute of Pedagogy of the Ukrainian SSR. The author considered the components of the resource sections. The sections cover the bibliographical data, pedagogical and educational activity of the outstanding Ukrainian pedagogue, who made a significant contribution to the development of pedagogical theory and practice in Ukraine. The biography contains information about the scientist’s life and his most important scientific achievements. The section contains a considerable list of sources presenting a bright figure of the teacher. His works dealing with the content and organisational forms of training are mentioned in the resource headings. The following works by the teacher are represented: monograph ‘Types, structure and methods of lessons in school’ (1973, 1976), textbook ‘Natural history for three-year primary school grades 2 and 3’, manual ‘Classroom system-based teaching’, ‘Exercises for grades 5 to 8’, etc. The section includes visual sources, which can be used by researchers to study the scientist’s life and activity.
