Abstract

The article examines the personal reactions of humanity to the pandemic of the coronavirus disease COVID-19 and related quarantine measures in the spring of 2020 at the level of essential psychological transformations. It is shown that such a total crisis situation plunged many people into the existential landscape of life-creation, filled, in particular, with existential fears, the specifics of which should be considered in the socio-psychological accompaniment of the individual. Based on the concept of existential psychodynamics by I. Yalom, it is analyzed how the four givens of existence appeared as unexpected, as if latent threats to the usual, everyday existence: death, freedom, existential isolation and meaninglessness. Described and given examples of non-constructive and conditionally constructive poles and possible consequences of individual-personal experiences of the four existential fears of the personality actualized by these given.
