Abstract
The paper highlights some aspects of the modernization of school education in the Republic of Poland. The key trends in the development of education, such as the modernization of the structure of education, the modernization of the content of education, the accessibility of education, and the introduction of new technologies in schools have been identified and analyzed. In particular, it is noted that the updating of the content of academic disciplines is based on competencies.
