Abstract

The article presents didactic material for the effective organization of educational activities of students in grades 10-11 at a literary special course «Masterpieces of Modernism: Studying Ukrainian and Foreign Literature in an Artistic Context». The specifics of studying the programmatic educational topic “Symbolism is the aesthetic and philosophical basis of the art of modernism” is revealed, the study of which is aimed at deepening the knowledge of senior students about the art of symbolism, a meaningful understanding of the basic aesthetic principle, characteristic stylistic features and awareness of the high artistic significance of the best works of Western European and Ukrainian Symbolists. The material presented will contribute to the development of key cultural and subject reading competences of the students.
