Abstract

The essence of the ability to work with a study book and texts of different kinds in the literary reading lessons in elementary school is revealed. Types of cross-curricular tasks of the activity type have been developed (study of textbooks by students as a kind of educational book; ability to use non-text symbols, signs; mastering methods of working with texts of different types). Their importance in the context of transferring learners' learned ways to action in new situations, use in other lessons, increasing the readiness of younger students to learn, is substantiated.
