Abstract

The theses of the report delivered in Kyiv city by Volodymyr Savinov on February 26, 2009 at the plenary session of the VI Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation "Space of Art Therapy: Structure, Chaos, Elemental" briefly describes the Playback Theatre from a psychological and psychotherapeutic point of view. The outward resemblance to psychodrama and drama therapy is noted and some differences from these psychotherapeutic practices as well as from traditional theater. It is shown that the psychotherapeutic significance (value) of Playback Theatre for active viewers are: 1) assignment of one's own experience; 2) other self-perception and 3) self-response of feelings. Also described is the experience of organizing the "Playback space" during the "full immersion" on the field-visiting art therapeutic project “Art-Kaleidoscope”, held in the summer of 2008 at Cape Kazantip (Shcholkine, Crimea, Ukraine).
