Abstract

The presentation deals with the results of the study of personality characteristics of entrepreneurial activity of heads of institutions of vocational education in Ukraine. It is revealed that more than half of the Ukrainian heads of vocational education institutions are characterized by insufficient level of development of such personal characteristics of entrepreneurial activity as innovation, creative tendency, need for autonomy and achievement, calculated risk-taking, internal locus of control. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, statistically significant differences in the severity of personal characteristics of entrepreneurial activity were established depending on a some of organizational, professional and gender-specific features of heads of vocational education institutions. In particular, it was revealed that with an increase in the length of service and qualifications of managers, the creative tendency and the need for further development manifested themselves significantly less (p <0.01); in institutions of vocational education of an innovative type, the level of calculated risk-taking of managers is higher than in traditional ones (p <0.01); female managers of the older generation are characterized by a lower need for autonomy than men (p <0.01). The expediency of development of special training programs for the development of personal characteristics of heads of institutions of vocational and technical education and their approbation in the conditions of postgraduate education is stated.
