Abstract

The article deals with the problem of social self-efficacy of pedagogical employees as a factor of psychological safety of the educational environment. The basic approaches to the investigation of social self-efficacy of educators as their internal conviction in the presence of necessary potential capacities and level of professional competence for realization of role expectations of all subjects of educational process in situations of pedagogical and business communication are determined. The main features of a psychologically safe educational environment are outlined. The results of empirical research of social self-efficacy of pedagogical employees and psychological safety of the educational environment, which testify their insufficient level for a significant number of subjects, are presented. Instead, the level of social frustration of these educators is quite high. The gender-age and organizational-professional characteristics ofsocial self-efficacy of pedagogical employees are characterized. It has been stated that male teachers are characterized by higher social self-efficacy than women, although with age such differences are offset. Regarding the position of pedagogical workers and the type of institution of education, higher levels of social self-efficacy were found among teachers working in lyceums / gymnasiums than in ordinary schools, as well as in managers compared with teachers. The assumption of social self-efficacy of pedagogical workers as a significant factor of psychological safety of the educational environment is proved. It has been stated that the more effective teachers are, the more safety they feel, and the level of social frustration becomes less. The socio-psychological conditions of promoting the development of social self-efficacy of pedagogical employees in the process of specially organized socio-psychological training in postgraduate education are highlighted.
