Abstract

In the article, the author, who heads the Department of Geography and Economics Education at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, focuses on the remarkable events that took place during the 85-year history of the department. The scientific achievements of the researchers who worked in the department are analysed. Educational programs, geographic education concepts, textbooks, tutorials and teaching aids are still in demand across generations of geographers.
