Abstract
The author describes educational trends in the development of education in the PRC. It is emphasized that modern educational transformations in China are mainly aimed at raising the educational level of young people, forming functionally and professionally trained specialists capable of ensuring the economic development, competitiveness and political independence of the state, and the strategy of educational quality is beginning to take a leading place in the national educational policy of the PRC.
