Abstract

The article examines teachers' ability to pedagogical empathy in the context of the educational process humanization. Teachers’ ability to support productive motives of children's actions, to have pedagogically correct attitudes to children's success and, especially, failures is ranked highly in the structure of teachers' ability to establish full-fledged relations with pupils. This ability is associated, as a rule, with knowledge of certain specific teaching methods; but the preliminary data, in particular, obtained by us, indicate that, in addition to mastered method, teachers' ability to pedagogical empathy is needed in order to establish full-fledged educational interactions. Such insight, reproduction and understanding of another person’s internal states, compassion and empathy are the necessary condition for formation of a humanistic-oriented person in general, and a teacher first and foremost. The author highlights the orientation of a teacher's empathy actions aimed at preventing and correcting pupil’s mental conditions.
