Abstract

The initial stage of learning a foreign language is extremely important throughout the course. According to the draft Conceptual Framework for Secondary Education Reform, the New Ukrainian School envisages two cycles of primary education: 1) adaptation-play (grades 1-2); 2) primary (grades 3-4). This structure leads teachers to choose the specific forms, methods and techniques of teaching students of foreign language communication. In the first cycle preference should be given to the game activity and time of its execution, taking into account the individual characteristics of the students; it is advisable to organize training in foreign language communication through activities using game methods; educational work should motivate and arouse students' interest.
