Abstract
The paper looks at peculiarities of constructing an individual picture of the world as an intentional factor affecting decisions about the future. The authors argue that complexity of the individual conception of self-determined construction of the world picture varies at different stages of life. The authors also compare world pictures of citizens of Russia and Ukraine demonstrating both the common features of the process of choosing emigration and differences brought about by social realities of life in either country.
