Abstract

In the article the author analyzes various aspects of modernization of Ukrainian education. Scientists see the distinction between competence education from different subject knowledge and the specificity of education competence in the process of implementation of the competence approach in education, which involves determining the optimal list of competences, development of competently oriented state standards, programs and textbooks. And this requires a conceptually different design of content and technology education. In this regard, the renewal process in school education is suggested to be defined as a separate concept – competentization of school education.
