Abstract
The educational support of lessons with the children's book in the 1st grade is analyzed and substantiated. The emphasis is placed on the criteria for selecting children's books for classes, adherence to sanitary and hygiene requirements for printing (corresponding font size, fields, length of the line, the amount of text on the page, the size of the illustration, etc.).
